Beechcraft 1900C/D


     The Raytheon Beechcraft 1900C/D models are owned and operated by ERA Aviation Alaska. There are currently 20 Beechcraft 1900C/D aircraft in the ERA fleet. The maximum certified ceiling is 25,000ft at 288kts true. Flightcrew of two. Standard passenger accommodation for 19 at two abreast.

Bombardier Dash-8


     The Bombardier Dash-8 Q400 is flown by Horizon Air for Alaska Airlines. Horizon Air currently has 47 Dash-8 Q400 aircraft in their fleet, all operating in furtherance of Alaska Airlines. Horizon Air is one of the aircraft's largest operators. The Dash-8 Q400 stays in the lower 48 and are based out of Seattle, and Portland, and most of the flights are to and from smaller northwest markets. The aircraft has a max certificated ceiling of 25,000ft at a speed of 350kts true. Flightcrew of two. Can seat 70 passengers in a single class arrangement.

Bombardier CRJ-700


     The Bombardier (Canadair) CRJ-700 (CL-600) is flown by SkyWest Airlines for Alaska Airlines. SkyWest currently services a limited number of routes using the CRJ-700 from Seattle, and Portland to California, and one flight between Seattle and Portland. The CRJ-700 has a flightcrew of two. Typical main cabin seating for 70 passengers with a 1,702 nautical miles cruising range, and a max certificated service ceiling of 41,000ft at a max cruise speed of 464 knots true.

Boeing 737-400



     The Boeing 737-400 model has been at work for Alaska Airlines since replacing the since retired Boeing 727 series in the late 1980's, and early 1990's. All of these aircraft have logged thousands of hours in the Alaska Airlines fleet flying passengers near and far reaching destinations as far north as Barrow, AK, and as far south as Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, MX, and as far east as Boston, MA. The Boeing 737-400 has a flightcrew of two. Typical two class seating for 146 (eight premium, 138 economy).It has an MTOW cruising range of 2,160 nautical miles at a ceiling of 37,000ft at a max crusing speed of 439kts true.

Boeing 737-700



     The Boeing 737-700 model was introduced to the Alaska Airlines fleet in the late 1990's without the fuel-saving winglets on all the next-generation aircraft today. Currently the shortest aircraft in the Alaska Airlines fleet, the -700 model was the first of the 737's produced to boast an impressive 41,000ft service ceiling at 423kts true. There are currently 17 aircraft in the Alaska Airlines fleet. Flightcrew of two with 126 passengers in two classes.

Boeing 737-800


     The Boeing 737-800 is the workhorse of the Alaska Airlines fleet, today. There are 60 Boeing 737-800's in the Alaska Airlines fleet, of which over three-quarters are equipped with ETOPS (Extended Operations) for flights overseas to Hawaii. The Alaska Airlines -800 fleet is one of the only 737 fleets in the world to boast CATIII ETOPS for operation up to 180 minutes from a suitable alternate landing site. Each engine is certified at one failure per 200,000 starts. Most of the standard painted -800 ETOPS jets carry a reddish "lei" around the neck of the Eskimo on the tail to indicate its ability to go to Hawaii. The 737-800 cruises at a maximum certificated altitude of 41,000ft at 423kts true. Flightcrew of two. Typical two class seating for 162 with 12 (or 16) first class passengers at four abreast, and 150 economy class at six abreast.

Boeing 737-900


     The Boeing 737-900 is the largest Boeing 737 ever made. It joined the Alaska Airlines fleet on September 10th, 1997 with its first of 10 orders from Boeing. There are currently 12 737-900 aircraft in the fleet, and all but three have winglets fitted (N302AS, N303AS, N305AS). The 737-900 was originally developed at Boeing's Renton, WA plant to replace the out-of-production fuel-guzzling Boeing 757-200, which some companies were upset to see leave production. The Boeing 737-900 cruises at a maximum certificated ceiling of 41,000ft at 423kts true. Flightcrew of two. Two class seating for 177, with 12 first class at four abreast, 165 economy class at six abreast. Alaska Airlines is expected to soon take delivery of their first Boeing 737-900ER which will be ETOPS equipped for Hawaii.
